TODAYS SEAT TIME

Hooked up the brush hog today and mowed a little spot in front of the house and down all the fencelines. Lots of rain this spring on the Texas gulf coast, I'm going to be a mowing fool.

Ah green grass I almost forgot how good that looks. It's snowed here today for a few hours.

It was cold and misty this morning, {barely 60F} but I got out and cut the north half of the garden, the gourd patch and the part of Mamma's little garden spot she hasn't planted yet.

Had to watch the boss get some seat time yesterday. Guy just up the road gave him a sweet maple tree/logs that's been down a while. Smaller ones went on the truck, big one got carried back. Rear tires of the L4310 were bobbing off the ground when he hit bumps. That was one slow mile back to the shop.

every time I look at you guys with similar L Kubotas pick up those heavy trees and rocks with your grapples,
it reminds me what a bad decision I made with buying mine. An immensely strong Long solid bucket grapple that weighs 850 pounds by itself. So there's at least 3 or 400 pounds of weight I can't pick up because the grapple sucked up my capacity. Besides, I never thought my tractor had impressive FEL lift capacity, even had the pressure checked twice.

So I look at that big stump and big log and think no way with my tractor.
Other than being heavy, the Long grapple is just a great product, one that belongs on an M not an L.
Dealer should have either told me to get a narrower one or an open grapple like you guys have.

So, sell the grapple and get the right one, or get a new M?
just kidding.

Or some tractor with a lot more hydraulic capacity.
Dealer should have either told me to get a narrower one or an open grapple like you guys have.
I was a newbie at this then.

So, sell the grapple and get the right one, or get a new M7?
just kidding.

and check out the lift capacity...

New mechanical self-leveling loader
With horsepower ranging from 130 to 170, the new tractor can be used for livestock jobs, with Kubota’s new hay tools, or for smaller row crop applications. “But the main application for this tractor is going to be in the loader market,” says Brown. With this in mind, Kubota also introduced the LM2605 mechanical self-leveling loader.

Mechanical self-leveling allows the loader to lift more weight throughout the lift range, which is an impressive 13 feet 11 inches. The new loader can lift up to 5,700 pounds and features z-bar linkage. “With z-bar linkage there is no linkage above the boom so you have a clear view of the loader,” explains Brown.
