Terry, I tried to talk bossman into lettin me paint it... no dice. This was a low buck only as needed repairs... cosmetics were limited to grill repairs. Better luck this winter, Rufus is needed out haulin wood and tillin gardens.

Got some seat time on my own tractor today... off work early, borrowed tiller from boss, and tilled our garden area, coated with horse manure/rotten hay mix, tilled again...





Been cutting in a "road" to the garden area, a semi-level place to drive thru the pony field. Keeps me off blacktop road, if I come into it from the other side on the new path.

Here's my dilemma, perhaps some sage advice or a standard protocol is available.

The tractor needs fuel, the fuel can is a mile +/- from the tractor. Should I A.) Put the fuel can in the truck and take it to the tractor () B.) Drive the tractor to the fuel can )) ?

Definitely "A", Save the gas mileage traveling on the tractor for quality seat time, Not on the road!!

Very nice pics. You don't see many hydraulic winches on tractors down here. I am interested in what made you decide on a hydraulic over PTO winch. I am looking for a way to put a forestry winch on my little doser. That unit you have might work for me.

I got about an hour hauling a fresh pile of brush to a burn spot, and I popped out 19 T-Posts to finish the disassembly of my "Temporary Horse pasture" (I need to be more careful about the labels I use it seems). Horses been gone a bit over 13 months now, they were only here for 14.5 months... My what a long strange trip it's been...

I'm off to put slime in the LX266 tire so I can start mowing the house yard. After that I will put the bush-hog back on the tractor and really clean up the former pasture area from the last 13 months of sitting fallow.

Extended the trail along the creek a few hundred feet. Leveling it off will make it easier to haul out logs.

Took down a couple good sized Ash and hauled them to the landing.

Solved my earlier dilemma by taking the fuel to the tractor, but after wrestling with those trees I was kind of sweaty, so rather than jump in the truck I droves the tractor home for lunch and back to the woods after eating.

Probably 2 solid hours of quality seat time plus the round trip for lunch.

I had a good day with my Ford 4610 yesterday. I spread compost in the garden. I am thrilled that I have a couple of inches of compost on most of a quite large garden!

The I tested out the new hydraulic cylinder and hoses on my new 10' disc, and moved it out of the yard. I have a hard time convincing my little boys not to play on farm equipment, so I have been keeping them in a spot across the farm.

Since I had the tractor at my implement storage spot, i thought I would hook up my new plow, and see if it looked right. It looked right, so I tried a bit of plowing. Like I feared, four bottoms was too much for the 4610. Even with the optional row crop tires filled with Calcium, I lost traction after 20 feet. So I took the plow back to the house. With some large wrenches, oil, a portable band saw, and lots of swearing, I got the bolts out and removed the last bottom. Three bottoms worked well if I didn't try to dig to China. In less than an hour, including adjustments I got my 1/2 acre food plot plowed. I finished up after dark, so I even tested the lights.
