TODAYS SEAT TIME

   / TODAYS SEAT TIME #1,571
Not today, but yesterday I got a quick bit of seat time pulling my truck out of the mud while trying to winterize my boat. Nope, it's still not winterized, and yes, those skid marks were from me sliding down the hill with the wheels not moving!!!

Did I mention I love my tractor????

Sorry to hear that. Is your truck four wheel drive?

It was such a nice day, just had to try out the new set of pallet forks I bought for the tractor.

Have had a 40 yard trash dumpster for months over at our land, and the disposal service is getting antsy to get it back, so wanted to load up so old stacks of treated wood, and move some brush to the burn pile. Had a great time.

My son is home from college, and we shared the seat time. We had a great time, even saw a B2 bomber flying overhead. I took a pic, but not much zoom on the cell phone!

The left rear tire has been going flat with a slow leak, so I pulled the tire valve and squirted in about a quart of leak sealer and aired it up again.
Needed to spread it around inside the tire, so I took the B20 out in the yard and dug and transplanted a few shrubs in preparation for turning part of your yard back into a vegetable garden. Pretty plants are nice, but stuff you can eat makes much more sense.

And then, it started to rain again.....

Got the glop spun around inside the tire. Will check tomorrow and see if it did any good. Next step will be to dismount the tire and go get a tube installed.

Later,
Dennis

My son (at 6'6") has outgrown his twin size bed. But it's a captain's bed with drawers under it. We managed to carry it downstairs and out to the garage. But then I strapped it up under the bucket and used the tractor to carry it around the outside of the house down to the basement door where we'll store it until we can get it sold.

Got to run the tractor for 10 minutes after almost 2 weeks of it sitting in the garage. Where is all that snow they promised us this year? December 30th and still approaching 40 degrees in Minnesota? What's up with that?

I have a slow leak in my tubed front tire. I suppose I'll take it off and go to the tire place on Monday. It takes about 48 hours to leak down.

I decided not to do the 50 hr yet. I'm over 53 hours right now. I spent a couple hours first with the grapple building a couple of burn piles (on for tomorrow's cookout). I went easy because the PHD is even less ballast than the stump grinder (and I could tell).

Then I did some dirt work. I took down to level the high spot where all the old bricks were bull dozed into pile. I moved the briks and rocks to piles, and most of the dirt into the wet swampy spot near my main burn pile.

The weather was awesome, the tractor was awesome too!

HAPPY 2012 y'all!

Happy New Years to all

When I first got my tractor 10 years ago the dealer/shop guys whom I have since learned to trust completely told me not to get to excited about the 50 hr mark. They said just try to get it done before 100 hrs.

Beautiful weather in KC today - mid 60's. Kinda windy, but no complaints. Used my new pallet forks to help carry the brush from my all day pruning marathon. Sure wish I had one of those long pole chain saws. Needless to say my forearms, biceps and triceps are sore from using the pruning pole. Oh, I have a chain saw, and could have worked from a ladder, but I am not a spring chicken anyone. But, I got quite a bit accomplished. Probably another full day and the pruning will be done. Been several years since the last pruning - way over due.

Be safe tonight. If you must drink, please don't drive!!

Well I got in about 45 minutes of seatime by putting gravel top fill on my Pad extension project over the top of the 0-6 inch rock this afternoon.. That will have to do for 2011. I haven't operated the tractor much in the last month and it felt good to get behind the controls again. Happy New Year everyone!
