TN75D 3PT Hitch Problem

My friend has a new to him TN75D. I was following him in my PU truck the other day, and noticed that the 3 point hitch would raise and lower about 10 or 12 inches (at the end of the arms). He said he had not moved the control lever, and there wasn't any weight on the hitch. It did this several times, apparently all by itself.
I haven't noticed the arms dropping overnight.

It is not very likely that the hitch would act like that and NOT drop when the tractor wasn't running. I'd evaluate the situation further and carefully monitor any symptoms before taking action.

I'll have him raise the 3 pt. all the way up this AM, and I'll check it at the end of the day.
