Tn 75 da brakes making noise

I have a 2006 tn 75 da with shuttle shift and whenever you apply the brakes hard it sounds like there is gears grinding in the transmission. Anybody have any idea of what it might be ?

Improper hydraulic oil.
Contaminated hydraulic oil.
Worn brake discs.
New Holland has an anti-chatter additive that will probably help if nothing else does.

The tractor has 1420 hours on it. Could the brakes already be worn down? I will try the anti chatter fluid

I can't say whether they are worn down or not. They shouldn't be, but given enough abuse, they well could be. Contaminated oil is more likely. 5 year old tractor with 1400 hours, I'll bet lunch tomorrow that nobody has ever bothered to change the hyd oil.

Ok proably go ahead and change it and engine oil and all the filter while i am at it .

its been a while since you posted this question. just started looking on this part of new holland posts. believe i am having same problem on a 2005 tn70da. brakes work good but there is a noise. what did you do for yours? thanks

Simpkins85 has not posted in over a year (Sep 2013), so the odds of him replying might not be good. I suggest following the advice already provided, i.e., change the hydraulic fluid.

thanks dont think it is the oil. have had a hyd line to bust or wear in two a few times and top it back off with hyd oil. i change the hyd filter every time i change the engine oil at 150 hours. may check out the anti chatter fluid.

What brand and type of oil are you adding?

i always use new holland engine oil new holland hyd oil new holland filters
