I am looking at a 2000 TN 55 2wd with canopy, 1 SCV, it 200 hrs on it. Dealer wants $13000. I have not asked about adding a FEL and don't know if it is possible. Can anyone tell me if this price is in line or not. How much can I expect for FEL if it is possible. I figured about $4000. Also is this a good tractor model or should I stay away? Thanks

That price seems close but you should be able to drive it down some. I would price out a new TN set up the same way though to give you a good comparison.

That tractor is not setup for a loader already so you will want to talk to the dealer about how much to install the NH loader and the joystick and remotes for the loader. Also, it is only 2wd which is fine for a lot of things but if you are going to try and dig into hard ground you will struggle. Also, digging into a pile isn't as easy and will take more skill to fill the bucket efficiently then if you had FWA. But that price for just the TN55 seems decent but not great.

You should be able to get a better deal. I bought a new TN65 three years ago with basically the same setup and only paid $16K. The hours are pretty low, but I'll bet you could get a new TN60 or TN70 in the same configuration for not much more.
BTW, a NH FEL will probalby set you back about $5K depending on the type bucket, and hydraulic setup.

I am thinking the NH loader setup will set him back at least $6k since he doesn't have the remotes or joystick already. I would look to an aftermarket company and see what they want for one and what hydraulic requirements it requires.

There is a nice TN55 2wd about 15 miles up the road. I would love to buy it as I need a nice 2wd raking/tedding tractor and it would fit the bill. Same setup as almost all TN55's, 2wd with one remote. Has 490 hours. Call the person up and talk to an old lady. She tells me everything about it and I ask how much they want for it and she replies "$18k". I said "thank you" and hung up. I kind of figured they were out of their mind on the price before I ever called as it has been sitting in their yard for 8 months now. I thought about making an offer on it but when they want more for a used one than a brand new machine cost you know they will just be offended by a realistic offer.

18K?? Too much. You have to walk away.

The TN55 isn't the same chassis and front end as the TN60 and up. It uses lighter duty parts and doesn't hold up as well. It is also quite underpowered for the size of the machine. As a 2WD for things like pulling wagons it is ok, but it doesn't have the front end strength and load capacity to make a good loader tractor, and doesn't have the PTO hp for a lot of implements.

Just the thoughts of someone who has owned 2 TN75's.
