I'm looking at a grapple for my Kioti 7320 that will be delivered next week. This caught my attention. Sounds heavy duty being built from 1/2" steel plate. Looks heavy duty. Has replaceable teeth. Does anyone have any experience with Titan products? I sure hate to send money to the commie bastards across the pond, but this is about half the price of its competitors and seems pretty solid and has good reviews on their website.

Someone shared these pics with me recently if you're interested in the weak points.

Yes, it most definitely looks abused and anything can be broken if you try hard enough, but, with the cheap chinese stuff, you really don't know what you're getting.

If you like Quality and US Manufacturing at its finest, the ultimate grapple for a Kioti RX with the most premium materials and a weight of under 700 pounds is our Wicked 66 Root Rake Grapple.
AR450 Steel and DOM tubing ensures strength and rigidity. The testing video with our Kubota M6-141 proves it.
This is for people who demand premium, which I totally understand isn't for everyone. I'm just showing you a great option.

They're made with Chinese steel. I'd go through everythingattachments or carolina attachments. Both very reputable companies and made in America

Too bad its not built from AR500 steel, then it'd be bulletproof! Lol!
That grapple looked pretty mangled, for sure! I'd be really curious what he was doing to mangle that thing so bad and what tractor he had it mounted to. Honestly, all I really plan to use it for is grabbing logs out of a truck load for blocking into firewood and handling some sagebrush. I guess it might get worked a little harder than that at times, but it won't be used much I wouldn't think.

Every one has a budget and thats just a fact of life. I will say this though. Hopefully it will make sense. The prices are just pretend.....

If the good tool you want cost $300 dollars and you make do with a $200 tool and then the cheaper tool breaks you just wasted $200. If you buy the better tool and you might have got buy with the cheaper poor quality one then you wasted $100.

Everything Attachments seems to sell top quality products and my personal purchases from them has so far been worth every hard earned penny.

What would be the smallest diameter log you could grab with the tomahawk Bigpuddie?

This is closed position. I guess it would depend on how you grabbed it...tomahawk-hd-grapple-03.jpeg

I have the Titan 72 on my LS- it has been plenty stout enough for me thus far. I have horses around some pretty good size pine trees with it as well as moved a lot of brush piles- I suspect the one in the picture was misused if not outright abused.

That is what I was also thinking. If you look close at where the tube part is broken, it looks to me that it was either welded where it broke, or it was cut with a torch. As the salesman of a competing product, it sure is nice to be able to put a picture of your competitors mangled product out there! I suppose that if I mounted one of the wicked grapples to a large enough tractor and abused the crap out of it I could also come up with some mangled grapple pictures.

All that said, the wicked grapples are surely very good quality. Most people likely didn't get my joke up above about being made from AR500 steel and being bulletproof. AR500 is the steel used for making rifle targets for long range shooting. It is very hard steel and firing a rifle at it vs mild steel really shows how tough the stuff is! My 7 Mag loaded with FMJ rounds will punch a hole right through 1/2" of mild steel no problem. Probably 5/8 and possibly even 3/4" too. On the other hand, 3/8" of AR500 steel will deflect the same round at the same distance without so much as a scratch. His Wicked Grapple is built from AR450 steel, while not quite as hard as the AR500, is still very hard good quality steel. I'm sure the Titan is using either mild steel or possibly (hopefully) a high carbon steel. So, that said, for handling logs I think the lower hardness steel will work just fine for half the cost. If I were a landscaper moving boulders around every day it might be a different story.
