I will be purshasing me a B7500 in a few days with a LA302 FEL. It has regular tractor tires on it right now and the dealer said he could put some R-4 industrial tires on it if I want them.I think I will get them so they won't tear the yard up as much. What kind of tires do you have and what kind do you recomend?I don't want turf tires. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

For what it's worth, I love my R4's. They seem to be a great all purpose tire. I drive on my lawn all the time without damage, (as long as it's not too wet and I am careful not to make tight turns in 4wd). I have had it up to the axles in mud and never gotten stuck. The only place I have had trouble is in really soft sand down on our beach. The tractor just wants to dig in, so I just stay off the beach.

I was making a lot of passes across our yard today and for some reason thinking about the tire type question...

Some feel that R4s are the compromise solution. I have them too...but in mud I feel like I would rather have the ag tires...but I am not always in mud...

People who have turf tires sometimes say that ags will tear up the lawn...get turfs!

People with ags sometimes will say ags are no worse than r4s on the turf...get ags if you want to.

People with r4s sometimes say they are pretty good, but also if the ground is soft that they can tear up a yard...just like r1 or turfs can too...

After thinking about it, I have sort of come to the conclusion that the only way I will ever REALLY know is if I get a set of each kind for my B2910 Kubota and see what they do in all conditions /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

But since I got the smaller Bx2200 [with turff tires] for the light duty stuff and grass cutting I doubt I will do that.

Man, I guess even though I have had my tractor for over a year I still don't have a clue as to what tires would be best! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I have a bar turf (Terra Turf) on my B7500 and they do great on anything. A B7500 is heavy and has lots of torque and it's really easy to chew up a part of a yard when it's damp, and I've done it dry too.
AVOID sharp turns and AVOID 4x4 when in the yard. AVOID fast take offs and stops.

theboman,
Is your B7500 a HST or a DT model? How long have you had yours?

I have the R4's and brush hogged the yard, front and back with very little turf damage. (The house we bought was vacant for two months before we bought it and the grass was about a foot tall)
They due however furrow up the sand pretty good if there is no grass growing. They also seem to stand up pretty well to goat head stickers (a.k.a puncture vine). I must have had about a million of those little meneces in the tires and they seem to not know the difference.
By the way I have figured out how to clean of the stickers when the tires get loaded with goat heads.
Stab the bucket and spin all four tires and they clean right up. ( Make sure you are in sandy soil when you do this) hard soil or clay would be a little rough on the drive line.
Anyway it does a really nice job of cleaning the tires.
