Tires Tires for a 2305

Looking for feedback on tires for my 2305. The factory tires seem fine, but I've seen a lot of people talking of R4 etc. I don't know what R4 tires are, but I'd like to get some better tires for the front. My seem really soft when using the FEL - would 6 plys help? Also, any feed back on optimal PSI for f/r would be appreciated.

The R4 (industrial tires) are what is on my 2210. I don't notice any problems with heavy loads in the loader but I am using the ballast box which helps immensely with loading on the tires and the axle enabling easier steering.

If your going to go to R4's on the front you will need to go with them on the rears also. Different diameters between the R1's and R4's. I put 380 hours on my 2210 and a good portion of those hours were fel work. You need to make sure you have rear ballast along with filled rear tires to do use your fel saftely. The air pressure recommendation I believe was 4 psi higher that max rated on the tire itself for the front. If you operate your fel with just the tires filled you will be putting a lot of strain on your front axle and setting yourself up for a costly repair down the road.

I've got the ballast box loaded with Concrete blocks, though if I had to guess, it's only ~250 lbs. I've gotten lots of good advice on this topic (ballast). Thanks to all.

I'm still not sure what the advantage is to the R4s. Is there a post that digs into tires?
