I made the mistake of not realizing I had a flat this weekend on one of my rear wheels. I drove the rim into it and it is sliced. :( The tractor is a YMG 1800-D, which has 8.3-22's on the rear. Apparently (according to the good folks at Hoye), there is a national backlog of this particular tire. When and if it ever gets back into the supply flow, I found prices from $289-$480.

Anyone happen to have a used one laying around they would like to sell? I'm not hopeful, but multiple hundreds of dollars for a tire to be purchsed and mounted on this little tractor is quite a shock.

Depending on how bad it's damaged, You can take to a tire shop that repairs large tires & they may be able to repair it. I use to repair large tires with a hot boot ( like a patch) & then install you'er tube. This was the way we did it back in the late 70's .There may be a better way these days .

Repair as mentioned or:

Lace the slice up with leather shoe laces, put a boot on the inside and then use a tube. Cheap and dirty but it has worked before.:D

Yeah, I like these ideas much better than dishing out 300-400 for a new one. Will talk to some shops today.

Hmmmmmmmm, not sure if it would help, but Ebay has auction from Tucker
Tire in Tennessee with auction for two 8.3 x 22's. Not connected in any way but saw them. You may even be able to call store and see if they had a used one laying around. Good Luck.

In all seriousness...if anyone has or finds a consistent source for 22" tires, whether 8.3 or 9.5, at a reasonable price (under $200), I would love to know about it. The 8.3s cost us over $300, and the 9.5 very close to $300. In fact, with shipping to us even the 9.5 is $300+.

Then he may want to jump on those two on ebay. They were 504 for the pair plus 70 shipping. That's a bit under 300 each delivered to your door. A lot for a tire to be sure.

That is why I went to these industrials. They were about the same price as the stock including the wheels.

I have a tire store close that handles construction and farm tires. These are large skid steer tires. There were some on Ebay a couple of days ago. Hey Wheel made the rims for me. I later had them make front rims and put industrials on the front.

Here's an update guys. I finally was able to get the tire off and down to my local tire store. They deal in "street" tires as well as truck and ag tires. He took one look and pronounced it unfixable. There is a good sized rip about halfway down the sidewall that extends for probably 24-30 inches. (about 2 -3 inches away from the rim)

So, it looks like I'm going to have to buy the two that Tucker has for sale on Ebay. I can't find another one in the whole country.

Before I press the "Buy" button and commit to almost $600, I'll plea one more time to see if any of you all know of any others available.

Update to the update.

Believe it or not, I actually found a local dealer who has two! They are $262 a piece, so I am a very happy camper :D

Going to get it mounted tomorrow.

You are very fortunate indeed. My YM3110D takes 12.4 -26 rear tires. And they are starting to look pretty bad. I can't find these anywhere. If anyone knows of a set, please let me know. I keep checking eBay, no luck.

Where are you located VicWalk? I can give you the number of the guy here in VA who had mine. They said: "if it rolls, we can get it"

Too bad, I have a set of 11.2 X 24 rice tires sitting in my basement. They are free! Anyone need them? PM me.

Fenneran, thanks for the reply. I am in Arizona but I would be willing to talk to anyone about the possibilities of finding a set of tires for my tractor. You can post here or PM me if you wish. Thanks, VW

Vicwalk,
According to the YM3110D parts book, another tire/wheel combination that was used is 12.4/11-28. My 3110D has this size wheel and tire. This tire size seems to be more readily available. Perhaps, you could contact some of the Yanmar dealers to see if they have a parts tractor or can get that size rim and tire for you.
