I am so tired of having to fill my GX345's tires with air. I tried looking for leaks, but can't find any. I tried the green slime, helped a little, but still leak. I am now looking for tubes. I saw that SOME sizes have an option to get an "L" shaped valve, which if I had to guess, is what I think I need. I have 23x10.5-12 on the rear and 16x6.50-8 on the front. I cant seem to find tubes in either size with "L" shaped valves. So my question is, does it make a difference? Is it absolutely necessary to get an "L" shaped valve, or will straight work just as well?

I am also open to any other leak stopping suggestions. Thanks

The straight valves should be fine ,unless you go thru lots of wooded areas as sticks are what usually rips them off. Years ago I bought tire "reliners"for my front tractor tires. I 'm not sure where I got them, maybe Gemplers. They fit inside the tire then add the tube .Since I added the reliners I have had no more flats. They were really just cut up old tires with the edges feathered thin that you ordered in the size of your tire.:)

Thanks, I guess I should be happy that I got at least one response. This forum is getting less and less useful, with fewer responses to each thread. There must be another forum out there, just need to do some searching. Thanks again

"I have 23x10.5-12 on the rear and 16x6.50-8 on the front"

These sizes only made with straight tr13 valve stems.

RE: air loss

Foam fill your tires with EcoFlex which is a soft foam fill for small tires.
If your front tires are the problem, then just do the fronts.

I have had the same problems with my front tires for the last year or so. Thought about tubes but decided to put new tires on instead, glad I did because the tires once removed had tilny cracks that were allowing the air to slowly escape. These were six years old on my L130 and were same size that you mentioned. The new tires are Carlisle Turf Saver 4 ply rating so a little better than the oem ones.

I run straight valve inner tubes on the front tires of my JD 318, no problems. Rears have no tubes, but if I punctured one I'd put a tube in.

I got 18 years out of my original tires, and suspect the tubes in the front helped with that.

As for getting replies, try to put as much information as you can in your thread title. Generic titles gather less attention than specific ones. So in this case, a title of "Inner Tubes for my GX345- will it work" allows people to know if they have useful input without having to read and see what you're up to. As the number of TBN members (and their posts) increase, it's hard to find the time to read every thread to see if you can help.

Hello Carl,

The tire liners are a great product and stop a lot of damage and Gemplers had them the last time I looked.

The straight valve tubes with the knurled locking nuts are the tubes you want to use Carl and you will not have any more trouble with them.

Be sure to use some Freylube from Frey the Wheel man to mount the tubes and liner and seat the beads. The Freylube will keep the beeds from rusting to the rims and eliminate any tube bunching as long as you inflate and stretch the tube with the core removed to help with the tube seating and lubing the tire liner against the tube and the tube will not stick on the rim while inflating it.

I have a 345 with 16x6.50-8 tires on the front. I have tubes with straight valves in both tires. No problems at all!

Have you tried replacing the needle in the valve ? costs about $2

The L valve is just a extension a convenience feature
