Just had the dealer put on a new set of R1's I want them at the widest setting. Does this look like they are set at the widest they will go. If not how much wider can I go.

You can reverse the rims on the centers and go much wider. Since the tires are already mounted, attention to directionality is going to require that at least some of the fill valves will be facing the other way to their present orientation.

With them switched side to side you'll have plenty of room to access the valves from behind each tire. They are just as safe pointing in as pointing out. And I agree they are set to one of the middle positions now they need to unbolt the outer rims from the dish and change sides.

Reverse the rims on the inside how. Could you elaborate please.

OK take the implement off the back and park it out of the way. now jack the tractor up so both rear tires are just barely off the ground say 1/4" . place good solid jack stands under both rear axles. Now remove the four outside bolts that hold the tire and rim to the center pan. Have help when you get it loose because you can't hold it up while you loosen the bolts by yourself. Roll that tire back and lean it against the wall some where. Repeat on the other side only bring it over to this side ,and with the tread still pointing forward, Mount it by re-bolting the four bolts to the rim using the four holes that are empty now. Do the same with the other tire. Tighten the bolts then let it down off the stands and jack then torque. drive it around for an hour and torque them again.
Got it?

Ok, so I'll be switching the right tire to left and via versa. Then using the other open holes. Will the inner pan part of the rim be bolted to Outside of the outer rim the part. So looking at the rim from the outside you wouldn't see the "Z" shaped mounting brackets

It actually looks like the fill valves are on the inside now, so they'll be on the outside once the rims are adjusted to the wider stance.

If you want the valve stem on the outside, switch the outer rim only, leave the inner dish on the tractor and attach the outer rim to the outside of the Z bracket. The inner dish is already at its widest position.

No you will still see them just you will be bolted to the other hole. .

The point being: The attachment point of the outer rim is offset on the rim (i.e. not directly centered in the outer rim). This is why when you mount it on one side of the tractor versus the other side, the tire stance will be wider. (In addition to the effect of which side of that mounting bracket the inner pan attaches too).
I hired a guy to make my tires wider too (they were loaded tires). And he did the same thing as your dealer. Yep, sometimes it's a two step process.

Took about an hour and a half. Took all 4 tires out to then widest possible position. Thanks for the help guys. Wasn't as big of a deal as I thought it would be. I've got about 6 inches between the inside of the rears and the inside of the fenders. Before it was 2 1/2 inches. Should be was more stable now. Here's some pics for ya'll.

We are all glad to help when we can. Now we can talk about loading those tires if they aren't already. And if that still isn't stable enough you can always add spacers.

Ok, one more question. This may be Kubota specific... Looking at the manual, it states "front treat can not be adjusted" am I going to hurt anything by what I did by switching the front tires around so the rims are set wider. It looks like they are in line now with the rears. It's a L3901

Hard to read sideways and I can't tell if it is a one size fits all manual or model specific. It might be that 2wd fronts are not adjustable and 4wd ones are. Why put adjustable rims on if you cant use them?.
Do you have a loader on? If not I wouldn't worry about it and set it as wide as possible. Mine with the loader on says not to go out to the widest position on the fronts and I have gone by that keeping the tires under the edges of the six foot bucket.

OK put the front back the way it was and then trade it for a more versatile tractor. :confused3:

My Ford manual says the same thing, but since I mow on a fairly good slope I wanted the widest track possible, so against their recommendations I swapped rims side to side. Been that way for about 14 years. With that said, I also don't use the bucket for lifting heavy loads, by that I mean trying to lift giant rocks or pull stumps, a semi full load of dirt is about it.
