I have a Kubota B2150 that has turf and field tires on the rears and Ag tread tires on the front. I wasn't the one that put them on, but it doesn't seem to be a very good idea to me. I'm afraid that having the more aggressive tread on the front might be hard on the tractor. Any thoughts? The tractor is used primarily on open dirt and in the field, so I need the traction but don't know if I can afford to put matching Ag tires on the back right now if I don't have to....any suggestions would be helpful.

/ Tire Question #2
General consensus is the front axle on most CUT and SCUT is not as strong as the rear. Having said that, people have reported running front tire chains without breaking it. Total rebuild of the front axle will cost multiple thousands of dollars.
One thing you can do is see if you can hear more gear noise with front wheels engaged and disengaged. I can really tell when I forget to go to 2WD on pavement. If you get a lot more gear noise with 4WD I spring for the Ag rears they will be much cheaper:)
