Early this year I traded for a new 2025 truck and there's no 12v plug-ins anymore, and also no more 120v dash plug-in, just the bed-mounted 400w 120v receptacle. Anyone else out there with the same scenario - what are you doing for backup tire inflation? I've had a cheap 12v pump in a bag under the seat for years, but i'm wondering if there's a better choice now? looking at a lot of the 120v choices, they don't publish full specs, i guess because they assume everyone will use them on a 15a circuit, which is way past the draw. With this truck, there's only 400w, or about 3.33a available.i found a 3a 120v to 12v converter, which would give me 30a, so most 12v compressors should still work - probably better than on dash 12v power, just wondering whether anyone has found a 120v compressor they liked? I also need about 20-25 feet of cord too - guess i can carry a cheap extension cord. most of the 120v ones have short cords. FWIW, i want to stick with corded - I have lots of Dewalt 20v batteries, but it's below freezing here a good chunk of the year and i want to be able to leave this in the vehicle 24/7.

My cars and trucks all have cigarette plugs so I carry that style of inflator. Since motorcycles don't have cigarette plugs I've always carried one with an SAE connector since I always have an SAE pigtail from the battery for maintaining on a charger over the winter. If I didn't have a cigarette plug in my truck I'd carry an inflator with an SAE plug. I have an SAE pigtail on my truck battery since it sits for months while we travel in our RV but I also have alligator clips with an SAE plug so the battery wouldn't need a pigtail.

Similar to the above, I've got an SAE plug on everything I own the requires a 12V battery, ZT, tractor, Spyder, electric brake battery on my trailer, etc.. If I didn't have a cigarette receptacle on my Ram that's what I'd put on it as well. They're very common on every tender or electrical accessory I've had and most I've got are at least 14ga wire which would be good for 15A. You can even get a SAE to cigarette lighter adaptor if need be.
If the unit you have uses a male cig plug, what about a alligator clip to cig adaptor?

I have the Milwaukee air compressor. Man do I love that thing.

I have a Ryobi battery inflator that I carry when I travel. I also have a 110v outlet in my GMC that will run my 3gal pancake compressor. I guess if you want 12 volt you could use one with alligator clips on it and hook it directly to battery.

I install sae flange connectors for access to 12v power. Can plug a charger into it, or get power from it.

or a $10 pigtail adapter that clips direct to your battery like booster cables.
Leave it in bag with your existing inflator and bobs your uncle.
No mess or installation required and can use existing stuff you already have.

I keep a Dewalt 20V inflator, 20V 1/2" impact, the 20V power pack, and a spare 4AH battery in my truck. I have an Airmoto inflator for the 2 SUVs. It charges off the USB-A plug on the console.

The rechargeable inflator/jump starters work and aren't very expensive.
