Like others, I haven't found a way to know whether my gauges are accurate or not. But, that aside, I use the digital Accru-gage with the flex-hose and a clamp on type filler valve. I am able to replace the battery in mine, which I really like. I think I paid something like $40 for it.

The other supposedly top brand is a M****n. Paid $50+ for that one. It quit on me after about a year, and there's no cheap way to fix it, other than buy another M****n.

I have an old gauge that was my dad's... when he was in charge of maintaining a fleet of DC-9s, accurate tire pressures were required, and he had a reference pressure gauge that was certified dead on 60psi- I use that to compare regular tire gauges, to see what they read. I have one of those Sear's digital gauges, and it seems close enough.

I am not sure if one good gauge would be cheaper than 7 bad ones? They say a poor man should only buy the better equipment, he cannot afford to keep replacing the bad.
It is a bit like a clock, if you have several you never really know the correct time because they all are different.

I use one similar to the one posted above and it has worked well for me but my tires have no fluid in them. I was like you in the beginning, I had some cheap ones and have been much happier with a better one and it now has worked for 10 years or so.

I have the same problem. Five gauges priced high to low and no two read the same.

Our horse trailer tires require 110 PSI, some digital gauges don't go that high.

I bought an Accutire gauge at Sears many years ago, had a 5 year warranty, The center pin that opens the valve in the valve stem is plastic and wears out. Every three or four years when it quits opening the valve, I take it to Sears and exchange it for a new one.

Works good gets the same pressure reading as the one in my truck. Accutire Gauge | Standard Digital Tire Gauge and Programmable Digital Tire Gauge

Good choice! ConsumerReports.org did a report (October 2013) on tire pressure gauges and "tested them for accuracy, ease of use, and durability, and also checked to see how they were affected by ambient temperatures spanning a range from just above freezing to 113-118 degrees F". Two digital Accutire gauges topped the ratings, the MS-4400B and the MS-4021B which is model you chose.

Thanks, that is good to know.

Also, these have a replaceable battery.
