Someone please explain to a newb the different tire classes and the uses for each. I have turf tires on mine, they read R-3....what is R-4 and R-1?

Thanks
Barry

R4s are the Industrial type tires that are almost as wide as turfs, but with cleats. The cleats are not really very deep and the cleat design is meant to give you the best traction on a wide variety of material surfaces like asphalt, concrete, gravel, or loose soil that are common to construction areas. These tires work very well for loader work and have thicker walls to resist punctures.

The R1s are the traditional agriculture cleat tires that you see on farm tractors. They are designed to be used in loose soil and for draft loads. Their cleats are very deep and are generally narrower than R3 or R4.

I like to do an association to keep them straight....

R1 - Farm tractor
R2 - Real aggressive farm tractor
R3 - Golf course
R4 - Bobcat skid steer

They won't let you go directly to the link (perhaps because of brower settings). You have to go to the main site first.

There was a typo in the link (an extra period at the end).

GabeTX, I stared at that link trying to find the typo I was sure was there and no go. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I guess my eyes are getting old -- along with everything else. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Edit: Forgot to thank 13n0BrdngIrn for the link, which I should have done first time around.
