I was a noob this year with chains as well for TC29D. I jacked up, got as snug as I could and went for a ride. Within 100 yards, one started to slip off. I returned and did same proceedure, only this time, ran tractor with it jacked up. This allowed the chains to "settle" and then I tightened again after adjusting their position between treads. I really was struggling to get connector on it was so tight. Rinse and repeat until totally tight Been on for a couple months, no issues...
