I just received a set of tire chains for my B7800 with 13.6-16 turf tires. It looks to me that the sheet metal wheel well / fender is too close to the tires to allow the chains to be mounted. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif There's only about an inch between the inner side wall and the fenders. The chains would surely hit.

Any ideas? Are there smaller chains available? Anyone else have chains on a B7800 with turf tires?

Thanks!

This is a common problem with B27-2910 and B7800 tractors with Turf tires. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Here is a thread to help.

Here is a thread on wheel spacers.

Earlier this week narcnh posted that his dealer installed spacers on his B7800. Waiting for a reply on where his dealer got the spacers.

Holy cow, I JUST posted my reply to your question, Ron, when I came back to the forum, I saw your new Post. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I waited to reply, until I knew that my chains would fit (which they did). Didn't know exactly what you wanted to know, but now that I do will ask my dealer on Monday where he got the spacers.

Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I have a set of spacers made for a B8200. They are a perfect fit. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
I'm hoping someone has come up with a place to get them made or Kubota has brought the old part numbers from the B8200 back.

I didn't mention in my last post, but I read those old threads you listed, Ron. Man, I had no idea getting spacers was such a problem for people. As was mentioned in at least one of those threds the design of the chains from tirechains.com has the cam lock only on the outside and a simple hook-to-link attachment on the inside. This might make the difference for some people, but that's just a guess.

My Chains are from there. They will hit the bolts holding the fender together without the spacers. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Ron,

I found a discussion of the same problem from 2001 that you participated in, it has some good information. Link

If you decide to make some spacers from that thread be sure to change the bolt size.
In another thread it was determined that the threads should be metric. I'm not sure what the size was but the dealer where I bought the spacer put the 5/8 bolts in with the purchase. They work but get tight when fully in the spacer.

Ron I have a 2910 with turfs and rubbing chains. I read the old posts on the subject. What solution did you come to? Were you able to get spacers? What was the source? The inside of my chains have a simple hook. I applied the hook so as to pull the chain toward the axle as much as possible to try and miss the bolted fender. It works to a point but the chain still hits the bolt once in a while. There must be a better way. Thanks for your help. Mike
