The ideal would be to not have to get on and off but in reality it's the jack, landing gear cranking that is the part that makes loading unhooked miserable.

Here are some ideas for hitching. Many more are shown beside the main video.

That top video is genius. The rest look high dollar.

That picture you posted uses a simple hand crank winch like a boat trailer would use. Is that trailer strong enough to do what you want? If so you could just replace the hand winch with an electric ATV/ UTV winch and get the same results. I would think it would be cheaper than a 12v hydraulic set up. With a BX I wouldn't want to be towing too much weight. As for connecting the trailer I would just use a 3pt drawbar and a leg on the trailer. You would have to get off to release the coupler but with the 3pt you could raise the tongue up enough to drop the leg, release the coupler, then drop the 3pt hitch down and drive away then reverse it to connect back up. If real handy I bet you could find a way to make the coupler be released with a cable or long rod.

I plan on connecting it to the 3pl so that I can have a fixed leg on the trailer.
When not on the tractor the trailer will slope to the front, then when it's connected to the tractor and raised it will be level. That's the idea anyway.

Thanks for those auto hitch links, they look good.

I was planning on just having a fixed pin on the tractor side and pick up a tongue on the trailer, but because I will be dumping it I realised I will need to lock the pin so it can't jump off.

Does the Woodland ATV Trailer by Woodland Mills give you any ideas? Hauls and dumps up to 2000#. Max dump angle is 60˚. I've thought of making a heavier-duty version of this (I'd want to be able to haul and dump at least 3000#, 4000# would be better.)

I've seen one of these where the owner retrofitted an electric winch in place of the hand crank. Pair this with some of the quick hitch ideas others have posted, and you might just about be there.

Wasn't there a big safety concern about towing trailers with a 3pt hitch VS using the drawbar?

You could always install a chain to limit the upward travel and tow with the chain tight. Given the size of the machine you can probably just tow with the 3pt hitch all the way up.

It could be designed to work that way.
