Tin roof replacement

I am needing to find a source on tin roof. after 30 min of searching with 0 results on the net i figured id ask to see where one should look.

3 squares have blown off and many many holes. most are just small rust spots sugesstions on all are appriciated

Just about any lumber yard should be able to get you where you need to be. The yellow book might be a better source this time. I'd turn you on to my sources but Texas is a little far........

Kendrick, I can't see how anything can't be found on the internet in 30 minutes, unless you have dial-up!
Every lumber yard in N.E. has metal (steel / aluminum) roofing availible. It's ordered directly from a rolling mill cut to length to the nearest inch. Usually order by specific day one week & delivered the next day the following week, i.e. order by Wed pickup following Thurs. All have brochures listing trim pieces, colors, fasteners & fastening spec, etc. Delivers from PA, Quebec...
If you replace the entire roof you'll be good for about 100 years with occasional maintenence & could sell the used metal you remove quite readily. MikeD74T

Your lack of finding any TIN roofing may be due to looking for TIN. Very few product actually made from Tin. I'd loook for metal roofing as that would cover both aluminum and steel.

Here is something on TIN from Wikipedia.

Most everyday materials that are commonly called "tin", such as aluminum foil, beverage cans, corrugated building sheathing and tin cans, are actually made of steel or aluminum, although tin cans (tinned cans) do contain a thin coating of tin to inhibit rust. Likewise, so-called "tin toys" are usually made of steel, and may or may not have a coating of tin to inhibit rust."

Try doing a search for "metal roofing" and look at what's available. Most barns in our area use what is called 5V.

As mentioned earlier you can order it cut to length, the last I used I got from the local metal metal roofing dealer and it was ready in 3 days.

The screws hold much better than the nails, IMHO.

I can usually find weard stuff but common things I never use the right search phrase

Micky) I did search for steal corigated. found plenty of stuff about elastomers to fix a leaky "tin" roof but never found a place selling the darn stuff its self. i think i even used some of the links from wikopedia to try and find sources cant remember now though.

Randy) agreed with screws and rubber gromets. i may do that for this patch but I dont know. there are hundreds of rustouts. once we get the main house and other parts of the farm going proper we will then be in a position to fully replace the barn roof and probably the whole barn its self. we havent decided how best to tackel the job.

On a related note...... i need to roof our small barn in the near future. Is there anything available that will replicate an old rusty looking metal barn roof?
