as i mentioned last week, i finally sold my JD 1020; i told the buyer that i had a lot of trouble with it flooding. well, he called last night to let me know what the problem ended up being. the timing was retarded, a lot..i don't know anything about how to time an engine, i had relied on the mechanic that i "had" been using to make sure those things were right, after all, he overhauled the motor, and put in new plugs, so i would think he would have checked the timing? anyway, i thought the tractor ran great when it wasn't flooding, but the buyer said it runs even better now..i sure wouldn't have ever suspected the timing, it started and ran to well?? but i am very glad he solved the mystery, and is happy with the tractor.
