Hello, i lurk here often for advice with my equipment. Was a professional landscape contractor for a long time and have a ton of experience with most types of mower. sold company and almost all equipment and purchased a husqvarna 155 articulating mower mainly because i didn't want a walk behind and didn't really want to drop the money on a ztr. looking back i should have got a commercial machine. I actually love the little machine, it is very simple to operate and works well on rough terrain, can climb pretty good hills and mulches well. the only issue period is the poorly designed timed blades setup. Not sure why husqvarna decided that every other company had made a mistake and thought that they could reinvent the mower deck. I used to break blade pins often by hitting sticks or rocks so i installed thicker shear pins( i know it hurts the spindles and belt but it has to be that way). now what happens is when i hit small stuff there usually isn't a problem, but if i hit a hidden larger object the cogged belt will usually slip a few teeth and the blades start to hit one another. to retime the blades it takes maybe 10 minutes and becomes very frustrating when it happens multiple times per mowing.
Long story short, my idea is to either get a shorter blade for the center front blade or cut the blade down and rebalance so it can not hit the outside blades. It seems that since the blades are arranged in a triangle there should be enough offset to keep from leaving uncut strips. Anyone had this same idea and implemented it successfully, or can think of a better one. If i can't make it work i will probably sell the machine to someone with a manicured yard where it could live an easy life and get myself some type of commercial ztr or front deck mower, but that means more $.
thanks for any advice.

Maybe you need a bush hog instead of a lawnmower.

If the blade is shortened, I can see a path overlap when going forward but maybe an uncut strip getting by during a turn.

For the cost of a blade it would be worth trying.
