Time to say goodbye

In a few minutes, I'm leaving work to say goodbye to a long-time friend. The funeral leaves for the cemetary at 3PM.

My friend's name is Larry. (L.D. to his closest friends) L.D. was an electrician/maint man where my wife works also. I've known Larry since the 6th grade.

Thursday morning, he was trouble shooting a spot welder in the factory where they work. He made some sort of fatal mistake. A co-worker found him dead just minutes after the plant opened up for 1st shift. OSHA investigators have determined cause of death as electrocution.

He leaves behind a loving wife, 3 kids, and several friends that just can't believe the most care-free, laid back person they ever knew is gone.

I hope your memories of Larry in the best of times will carry you through your loss. Long time friends are a hard thing to come by in this fast paced world we have built. You seem to have found a man of charachter to have called a friend.

I really hate to hear of things like that. It's a reminder of how fragile life is and how one tiny mistake, or even no mistake, just one unexplained incident, can affect so many people. You certainly have my sympathy for the loss of a friend, and I especially sympathize with his wife and children.

I'm saddened to read about your friend and his family's tragic loss. Life has it's heartaches. I know your grateful for the good times you and he had togeather. Knowing that we all get to reunite one day helps but initially these events are beyond hard. So unexpected. Hope some friendly TBN support softens the hurt a little. Only time really seems to help though.
