I just took delivery of a MX6000 cab model and realized it does not have a toolbox. Anyone have a recommendation for a toolbox and location. I am 2 hours away from the tractor so I cannot just pop out to the barn and look around for a good place to mount it.

I see the FEL tube is good place for straps and chains.

I do like the rack and lights for ROPS, but that will not work for me.

Might as well go make a day trip and take off the grill guard so I can weld some mesh to it. I hate to screw up the paint, but that is better than screwing up the grill.

What else needs to be done right away?

I used a 50 caliber ammo box and mounted it on my loader tower as there were two M10 threaded holes already available.

My MX6000 W/Cab was delivered in May. Really the only things I have in the interior "toolbox" is a 12" pipe wrench, work gloves and a bag with bushings and pins in it. It would be nice to have one like the MX5800's come with on the exterior. I am not a welder so I am going to have to figure something else out.

I do have a 20' chain in the torque tube on the FEL.

interior "toolbox"

Guessing you are talking about that pocket on the left behind the seat where my manuals were. I guess that would work for some hitch & linch pins. But I don’t think that will cut it for some tools.

Correct. Like I said, I have a Crown Royal bag with linch pins and bushings in it, a 12" pipe wrench and a pair of work gloves in it. I would love to have a few more tools on board but so far I have not been able to figure anything out.

I like adding custom mods to my equipment, but for a tool box I just have a canvas tool bag that sits behind the seat.

Those bags are great, in my sawyer's box I have green, purple and brown Crown Royal bags with various items in them.

Spent about $35 and just made some tool holders this weekend. Small tube on left side for hand tools, small tube on right side for hitch and linch pins, straps and chains in the FEL tube. Yikes, Kubota orange paint for those end caps another $18.
