Good evening gentlemen,
Haven't talked to you all for a while, but I have been listening. Always learning something.
I have been looking at a 1996 New Holland 3430 and wondering?....
Any one on here have any experience with this tractor? I see quite a few 3930, but few 3430. Lots of 30?? tractors arround, and makes it most confusing. Can any one explain this? I have seen this 3430 specs at any ware from 40 to 50 hp. I believe the data should be around 46 engine/40 pto. Tractor is clean and straight. Seems to run fine, no smoke nor blow by. Has about 2000 hours as a landscape tractor. No serious problems that I know of. Anything you can suggest to check before I pull the plug?
Will be using this to maintain small acreage, and need all around tractor for mowing/snow/stuff Looking to trade a 57 Ford 600 as part of the deal. Ford in fair shape, runs fine, and good tractor for being 50. Just looking to upgrade the 600 and looking for something with same size and durability.
Not buying any other toys with tractor, as I have most now, and will fit same tractor. Besides BARN FULL no room for more. (did some one say new barn???)
I am interested in your opinion of this tractor, and if you have had any experience with the 3430. Would be interested in your opinion of cost for your area, for both the 3430, and 600.
Thanks for taking the time to read and post.

It's just a slightly lower hp version of the 3930. The 2 shared engines after the 3930 received the 192 cid 3 cyl., although the 3930's version was turbo'd. 3430 produced 38 PTO hp.

Thanks guys, thought it was somthing I said...

Droped the hammer on the deal, and is home in the barn. Sleeping with its bigger bro. tn65. should make a good pair.
Going to miss the old 600, lots of years with the ole girl, but sure do enjoy the power steering so far. :D

3430 has the vertical exhaust, and have been trying to find the horizontal one, as the trees around here are going to take off the existing one in a hart beat. any one know of a good source for the muffler bracket and pipes to do this? Looks like it is going to be pretty pricey from what i have seen so far.

Dapper,

Congrats on your New tractor.
The new number system confuses me --I like the old way better example: TC40 -everyone knows we are talking about a 40HP, anyway time for pictures you know the deal.

Dapper---put a plug in the hood and use the same manifold, pipe and horizontal muffler as the old 3 cylinder 4000----same stuff----many 3430's down here in the south----3230----3430----3930---4630----same drive trains different bore and stroke engines and a longer front kingpin/spindle on the 4630 all purpose---other wise they are all the same----until they went to the emissionized engine!!!! with their turbos, double turbos and electric fuel pumps and kill switches!!!

dapper, is that a Woods loader on that tn65? It looks like a nice rig. Both tractors together look like a team.
