Kubota L3010
Looking at a new tiller to replace my Mom's Troybilt Horse walk behind tiller. (I have a Kubota L3010 HST ~ 25HP.)

Does anyone have any experience with a Rotomec tiller? Local dealer has one for $1300 (58"). He can't tell me the model # & is asking the distributor(what they show listed on their website is not listed on the tiller). The Rotomec can be shifted to cover the right wheel of the tractor (for use in tilling closer to obstacles and covering the tire track).

TSC has a 60" for $1350. It does not shift right or left and would be between the L3010 tires (multi passes would show tire tracks).

Any suggestions? I'm leaning towards the Rotomec. (Used tillers ae snapped up very quick around here it seems.)

I just purchased a King Kutter 72" tiller at TSC for my 3830 Kubota. I have been really impressed with the job it does. I like the KK tillers because they are all gear drive, since my tractor is 66" wide I don't have to worry about tire tracks with the 72" model and the 3830 handles the tiller very well, plenty of power.

It might be worth a look at the Caroni tillers ASC sells. ASC is a bit E of you in NC and theyre comparably priced. I used to own one and really liked it.

Thanks gentlemen.

I'll double check the width on my 3010 (TSC said a 60" was the widest I could use).

I'll also see what I can find out about the Caroni tillers.

I recently purchased a Ag-maxx from Iowa Farm Equipment. It is very solid and seems to work great. The 60" fits fine behind the wheels on my L3400.

It seems like your prices are kind of high. But that maybe your area and the season. It seems to me that you can get a KingKutter 57" around here for about $975.00. But then prices may have gone up that much. I checked out all the ones in my area two years ago and ended up going with a Buhler 57" and paid around $1200.00 for it. The King Kutter was the least expensive at $850.00 but I just like the Buhler better.

I have a 54 inch Rotomec tiller I use with my John Deere 2210. I have been very pleased with it except for my own forgetfulness when it comes to placing the support leg in its stored position before tilling. I've bent the support leg up pretty good and taken some steel out of two of the tines that ended up hitting the leg. Seems to me I paid about the same price mentioned and that was a couple of years ago before the price of steel climbed.

One of the reasons I went with the Rotomec was for the side shift feature but I haven't taken advantage of that feature yet. I might need the side shift some day should I end up putting in a fence where the garden meets my property line.

Taking the cover off the slip clutch to remove and reset the spring tension is a bit of a challenge getting the cover and the screws to line up when replacing the cover.
