I have an old Miller dialarc 250 with high frequency that I bought new in 1980. I used it less than 30 minutes and the cooling fan started to make noise. Due to my youthfulness I thought the bearings in the motor were bad and did not want to fix it at the time so the machine just sat and I have always used another welder. I have now discovered after 35 years that the bearings were not bad but the fan hub on the armature shaft was loose and was most likely making the noise. You can not tighten that screw with a regular Allen wrench and get it tight. you need an Allen socket with an extension that I will get soon.
When I bought the Machine I bought the foot pedal for the Tig for $120.00. The foot pedal is no longer where I had it stored, and I am looking for another foot pedal. A local Miller dealer called Miller and was told the machine takes a Model RFC23A foot pedal. Millers today price is outrageous I feel. Does anyone know of another source for a foot pedal?
I should not have given you folks a history lesson. Just asked does anyone know where to get a Miller RFC23A foot pedal, or an after market equivalent for an antique welder? Any suggestion will be appreciated.
