Thumbs in my picture files...

I have no idea of how it got there, or what to do to remove it, but I get a icon or what ever you would call it in my picture file that says "Thumbs". I have tried to delete it, but it keeps coming back. I know that it must be some sort of program, but since I don't use it, don't want it, and can't eliminate it, can someone here help me to get rid of it?????? The only thing that I have learned about it is that it is a data base file....The picture is what it looks like when I open my photo file folder. There is that "icon" between two pictures and it happens in all of my photo files..... I thought that it might have come with Norton System Works, but I can't find it in that program either. What made me think of this is that it has the two gear wheels like Norton System Works.... Thanks...

I've got some of those thumbs, too, Junkman, and have no idea what that is. I've only noticed it when copying files for backups and wondered where it came from.

The thumbs.db file is generated by the Windows operating system. It is a database file containing the small images displayed when you view a folder in "thumbnail" view (as opposed to tile, icon, list, or detail view). No harm is done by deleting the thumbs.db files. Whether you see these files or not is a function of your File Options settings.
