I measured my 24inch bucket tonight. Here is the way I explain it: From dead center the teeth are center/5 inches off center/ 12inches off center. The teeth are 2 inches wide. there are 5 teeth.
My thumb is 8inches outside to outside and it hits the edges of the side center teeth. IF it were 10 inches wide it would hit the teeth square center. If it were 6inches edge to edge it would fit just between the teeth.

28 inches from welded base to tip of thumb teeth is what worked best for me.
