Thumb for an L48 Backhoe?

I have a L48 and just purchased and installed the BTB402A auxilary hydraulic valve section for the purpose of operating a hydraulic thumb. My question is if return line is connected according to instructions with this kit do i have a two way valve? Cover page with kit says "This is a one directional valve for hydraulic hammer operation" Do i need to discard "t" fitting that connects return to return valve section and connect new retur line to bottom hole of new valve section? Dealer called Kubota before purchase and they said it would run hyd. cylinder but I question connections. Still searching for someone to build thumb to fit my tractor with WorkBra quick attachment.

I finally got my hyd. connection question answered by my Kubota dealer. Now Ihave another question about the Kubota aux. hyd kit for backhoe, #BTB402A. Hyd. hoses at bottom of boom stick way out past boom, looks like they are sure to be hit and broken. Does any one have this kit installed A

Sorry, hit wrong buttons before I finished post. Any L-48 owners with this kit that have had trouble with Hyd lines sticking out so far? Has anyone modified hyd. lines to protect them from being hit?

Anyone know where to get a 12" bucket for an L48 (BT1100)? Are there any 10" buckets available for this machine?

Do you have any pictures of this BT402A? i want to add a thumb to my machine as well. any help is appreciated. thanks,

i can take some pics of the thumb on my l45, its new so i dont know how close it will be to a l48. are you looking for a powered thumb, mechanical, or stationary? i built one for my b3030 and it tore up the dipperstick, i had to have the entire thing plated. the only reason i mention that dark day in my life is make sure you find something built for that machine, there are alot of forces that come to play that the bh may not be strong enough to take.

I'm not really worried about the mechanics of fitting the hydraulic thumb, i'm more curious how the valve is ran? is it piggy backed to the valve packs already on the backhoe? How do you control the thumb on you L45? footpedal? where does that plumb into the machine?
