So I have replaced my throttle cable. It was in pretty rough shape and just bought the replacement a few years ago.

Problem is that it won't hold throttle. When I tighten it down it becomes impossible to move, but when I loosen it it vibrates out of my desired RPM setting. Would love solutions. Was mulling over a replacement idea as I cannot quite figure this out.

Is there enough slack in the cable to make a loop in it? That would increase the friction...

It is only friction inside the cable housing and at the control lever that holds it in place.

Carl, Have you tried lubricating the throttle lever? Getting it greased can enable you to tighten the nut on the lever so that it doesn't vibrate loose, but still be able to move it easily. I had to do that with my 1445. YMMV...

All the best,

Peter

Good idea Peter. I fly home on Sunday so will get into it.
