3-Point Hitch Three point hitch capacity of Yanmar-the proof!

On occasion, people have inquired "how much will the three point hitch lift"? Well, I had a recent delivery of grain in sacks and decided to put my Yammer 2010D to the test. With the pallet forks and pallet in place, I added bag after bag of grain and periodically checked the operation of the three point lift at 1200 RPM. The three point lift stopped lifting at around 1100 pounds and the steering became too light to steer without something in the front loader. The tractor easily handles 700-800 pounds on the forks with good steering control. Attached is a photo of the tractor with 800 pounds in the back.

I always wondered if there was a point where it would just quit lifting, (given unlimited weight on front), or just break at weakest point......Good to know.

I don't really want to know where the weakest link is. Sounds expensive. What got me started was I was unloading the grain with the delivery man from the feed store when I was momentarily distracted by a phone call The next thing I know, he had loaded 1600 pounds of grain on the raised three point of the tractor. I stopped him and moved the tractor to set the pallet down. With this much weight, there was virtually no steering and the three point would not lift. Hopefully there is a wide point between where the three point won't lift and where something breaks.
