I live in the land of lake effect. I only use my bucket to move snow. Largest storm we got this winter was 12 inches of some heavy wet lake effect snow. No problem getting my driveway cleared. Wish I could say the same about the road I live on.My experience is that a truck with a plow is best, as long as you have enough room to store the accumulated snow until spring thaw.
Lacking room, or if you can’t plow immediately after the snow falls, a front mounted blower on a tractor wins every time.
A loader is, in my opinion, about as useful as a teaspoon for regular snow removal, at least in the snow belt.
That snow all came primarily overnight. The road was not plowed out until almost noon. Of course I had plenty of supplies on hand and can work from home so no big deal. Had I NEEDED to get out the F150 could have gotten down the road.
