Thoughts on a "kitty litter scoop" for tractor???

The space between the tines is critical. Too wide and you leave too much, too close and you can't lose the dirt, I think about 2.5" would work in dry loose soil

I'm going with 4 inch spacing, and then....I will have a provision to use a "force multiplier", more about that later

My reasoning is my soil isn't really a "loose" soil until it has some time to dry, so I figured 1st pass will get the big stuff and toss the dirt and then I will add my "force multiplier" and clean the rest up.


Most of the rocks I deal with are already in various piles, they are rounded glacier type rocks and lose most of the dirt easily

Also planning for a future double hydraulic top clam shell

Hope to work on it this weekend, already have the tines drawn and programmed.

I wanted to use my grapple, but the spacing was 8" or so. It got the giant stuff fine, but not the smaller stuff. I then made an insert that was at around 2.5-3" spacing. This got the next size rock down but wasn't that great at truly separating things out. I made a sifter out of an old trundle bed and placing some metal fencing across the top. I just used wood on the first attempt to see if it worked and it did. It just takes some time. The bed frames actually provides some bounce to further help sift things. I have heavy clay and it had to be dumped slowly. I may re-make the sifter out of metal as my wooden frame gave up at the end of my last project. Just too much beating on it.
