The Jeep Quadra Trac system used to have locking diffy's front and rear. This year....my 2011 Overland has a rear locking diffy.....but the front differential uses traction control (I think it's brake impulses?) to control the wheel slippage up front. It also has low range and an air-lift suspension....all of which were co-engineered via Land Rover engineers.....when Daimler owned Chrysler. Nice vehicle.

Some engineers have claimed that this front differential system provides nearly as much traction as a locking diffy.....but I am not a believer. For my purposes the traction set-up is more than adequate.....but locking differentials both front and rear provide the real deal if you are looking to do some rock crawling or major off-roading. (kinda reminds me of an e-hydro ;))

Sometimes you just want to put the hammer down.....and spin the wheels. :D:laughing:
