Thinking of trading 4100 for 1025R

Hi all,

I've been thinking about trading in my 1998 4100 w/ laser and belly mower for a new 1025R, maybe the FILB. The 4100 is a fairly crappy mower and the deck is a pain to get off. The drive over deck seems like a godsend. The two tractors seem to be essentially the same in power, the main difference being the 4100 has much bigger tires.

Any thoughts? I'm still on the fence and I haven't gotten any price quotes on the trade or the 1025R yet, probably this week.

I got a quote for $17750 for the 1025R FILB. I would still need to add the deck, but it seems like a pretty solid price. Am I going to regret going to a smaller tractor?

Those that have the backhoe- any regrets on spending the extra money?

Seriously though, what will you be using it for mostly?

Autocorrect- totally did not even notice that. Geez.

I'll be using it on 5.5 acres. I need to dig trenches and install drainage pipes in two areas on the driveway. We also have a one acre pond with a lot of brush and small stumps from a beaver that need to be removed. May have to dig footers for a deck extension, etc.

A tooth bar may suffice for the brush clearing and rent a mini excavator for the real digging? The backhoe seems like a super useful tool but I feel like I should be digging crap up every weekend to justify the cost. Maybe I'll just dig a pool. That'll keep me busy for a while. And yes, I am losing my mind.
