Thinking of planting a garden weed control question

Got mulch down around the Tomatoes and Peppers yesterday.

I put down cheap landscape fabric for the walkways and covered it with wood chips. Then I used cheap landscape fabric in the beds and used a propane torch to burn holes in it for the plants. So far so good. Very few if any weeds.

We used cardboard... covered with wood chips or mulch.
