120 - 125 pounds per foot of width is about right for a Box Blade.

If you have TnT (hdydraulic Top Link and Tilt/Lifting Rod adjustment) you may be OK with slightly less weight per foot.

You are in Pennsylvania. York (brand) Rakes were originally manufactured in York, Pennsylvania. There are many options which can be fitted to real York Rakes, including rippers and fold down blades for snow.

The BB would be way easier than trying to level the plot with the FEL. I know several guys who do their food plots only with a BB with scarifers. I tried it on a field a few months ago and it worked it up just as well as a disc and no broken disc to worry about as before in the rocky soil.

I'm in the same boat.
I'm building and maintaining three food plots for my neighbor, all half acre plots. Two of them are planted and I'm clearing the trees now for the third that will be planted for next year. I used the FEL on the first two but didn't end up as nice as I wanted.

I'm trying to determine if a box blade with rippers or a Fred Cain ripper tillage unit will be the best choice. Lots of rocks and some roots left, and will finish it off with a landscape rake. Anyone ever use the Fred Cain ripper or one like it?
