Hi Folks,

Looking at an '04 B7610 with 2xx hours. Includes FEL, Bush Hog (looks like factory) and a box blade. Any suggestions on things I should look for when giving it a once over? I don't have much experience with compact tractors, any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!

I'm sure you are going to get overwhelmed with things to look at, but I just completed a trade and what the dealer looked at was: body condition(any dents or rust), fluid leaks(fuel, oil, hydro, antifreeze), tire condition, loader operation, excessive smoke from exhaust, does everything funtion(PTO, lights, etc.) and finally the condition of the mower deck(cracks, belts, blades). I had the new owner of my old tractor stop by to test drive while my stuff was on order and he pretty much looked at the same things. What turned out to be a gold star for me was that I had maintained the service records in the back of each manual as to when I performed each maintenance task. That won them over to buy my unit and it got me top dollar for my trade.

Hope this helps and Good Luck!

Thanks for the info! I'm hoping there are some service records for this one as well...i'm terrible at keeping them. :)

If everything looks good after doing what RBrown said, and if the price was fair, the only thing I would be looking for is a trailer to haul her home. The B7610 has been a great tractor for me. I use mine for everything.... gardening, mowing, landscaping, road maintenance, snow removal, playing, joy rides, and the list goes on. Mine has around 350 hours and I would buy it again if I had to do it all over.

Does $9K sound fair? It's in pretty good shape.

For comparison my ride:'07 B7610, (240 hours), LA352 FEL, Bush Hog SBX 48 box blade, '07 Hudson HSE Deluxe trailer - 5 Ton 18', and a bunch of chains and 4 binders cost $11.5K last April.

Thanks folks, going to pick it up on Monday! Would like to find a trailer but until i have a good place to keep it, will probably just rent them if i need to haul it somewhere.

Edit: Should i haul it over to the local Kubota dealer for service/PM while i have the trailer?

Personally, I'd do a maintenance myself. Oil and filter changes are easy. Lots of tutorials here. Messick's site used to have a fairly good tutorial on a lot of the B series machines.

For the HST, use Kubota Super UDT and Kubota parts for the filters. Done deal.

The bolt head for the transmission strainer (on my B7800) is a 26 mm size. Had I known this before hand, I could have zipped right on through the maintenance exercise. I had to stop and go find a socket that size.

Your labor is free.....Just sayin'
