It would be nice if you could get a manual trans in a truck.
You can but only in a truck made for the real workers vs one made for the bean counters...
I would love it if they would bring back the floor vent and wing window though.
I had a 75 Chevy k30 plow truck with the fold in corner windows and boy was that nice on the highway at 55 on a hot day!

1977 is the first year for a K30.

Yup My 2012 2500 has the 6 speed stick. Just put the mini max that I had on my 2010 they added throttle response since I had it on the 2010 wow what a difference. It only has 18,000 miles in it now but I think if it continues to impress me this will be my favorite of my new era trucks.

My dad figured the left door wasn't necessary on our '47 Dodge, especially during the warm summer months. It was especially handy when fixing barbed wire fence--much easier getting in and out. I still hear about that from my cousin to this day.
Sure let a nice breeze thru on a hot summer day.

I like the warning beep when your lights are left on, but not the seatbelt or key beeper. A good solve for the seatbelt beeper is go to a junkyard and find a seatbelt that clips with your reciever and cut off the clip insert. That's for the others on here who don't wear their seatbelt.

All I need is an FM radio. Allthe other things like power options and AC and leather don't matter to me. My 2002 F150 4x4 Lariat has all of it and the only thing I enjoy is AC and the fact that I can roll my passenger window down without stretching accross the truck. It has heated leather power seats but having that and power locks don't really matter at all.

Mom had a pickup that had a door open backup alarm that was most annoying.

When hitching a trailer, and I need to move 2", I often like to have the door open and watch the ground, and the pickup then beeps and beeps and beeps.

Her car just beeps (inside, not outside) whenever she puts it in reverse.

How about having a option to turn off any of the nonessential things that irritate you.

I tried that years ago with my first wife......cost me a fortune!

The manliest thing about that '69 Chevy C10 is the gas tank behind the seat. Never gave it a thought at the time
Great truck, I abused thehell out of mine, 2 tons would put the frame on the axle, many a load like that.

Laugh today at pickup beds (that are actually used) they look like crinkled tin foil. Even though abused that ole 69's bed was still relatively nice and straight.

The first thing I did on my 2001 Dodge diesel was to find the wire to cut to disable the stupid chime.

As for all the tons of unneeded extras on a truck, a friend disparagingly characterizes this wussy additional crap as ****er knobs.

"my first car was a 58 Chev. Del Ray. The radio in the 58 had tubes."
Had a 58 Impala 348 powerglide myself, the radio however was the low option -- no pushbuttons.
Sitting in a pizza place waiting for my pizza with my back to the 58 with the keys in it I kept thinking I ought look around a see if it's still there.
Got my pizza and turned to go, the car was gone!
Pacing up and down outside the pizza store trying to figure out if my wife (lived close by) played a trick on me or if I should call the police -- my car came pulling in.
The guy got out apologizing profusely, he said he had got down the street a ways and at a stop light went to change the radio station -- except there were no pushbuttons. Freaked him out until he realized it wasn't his car.

Yea.....we did the same. We delivered rock one summer for a guy......had to be careful hitting a bump in the road since the bumper was almost on the ground......come to think of it.....we might have been early low riders!
