Kids dont attempt this at home:

Last nite about 9 PM I am tooling down a county blacktop on my Sportster and a big ol boar coon appears out of nowhere in the middle of the road and turns into my line...holy bat guano Robin.

I think I am running about 65 but I manage to lean just far enough to the right he hits me in the left peg and bends my foot around the peg backwards. Of course I just had to be wearing tennis shoes ouch it didn't crash me this time luckily.

My big toe is a bit sore this morning but I rode that county blacktop to see if I killed the coon. I didn't see him so thats good but I hope he made it w/o a lot of injury it had to hurt though man we hit each other hard.

I hate the thought of an animal suffering or me either especially for that matter and I do know better this time of year to be super careful I just wasn't careful enough apparently.

One big danger of riding a bike. I've known a couple of people hitting deer close by where I live. Put one out of work for about 6 months and lucky it didn't kill him. I always try and stay wary in the morning, keep my speed down and my eyes wide open and on the road. I haven't had much cause to be out riding at dusk or after yet this year.
Glad your OK.

Used to work with a woman who gave up riding after hitting a bunny while cornering a Ninja. Said she had never been so scared in her life. Apparently it was like black ice.

Somebody pointed out a bunch of hair stuck in my kickstand so it probably didn't go so well for the animal after all.

The guy who runs the Honda shop here said just run straight into them if they are smaller than a dog or you just end up in the ditch. (this thing looked like a bear cub)

I dont know about doing that 100% of the time but I can see where that would be the smartest thing to do if its right there. The worst thing a person can do is panic you have to force yourself drive thru it or you do crash because you cause it yourself.

YUCK. That put a really bad image in my head.

She got a scare I wouldn't want either did it crash her?

Thanks! Yeah I need to be more careful I really had no reason to be out after dark just one of those things you wish you hadn't done.

Just coincidentally, last night my wife watched a couple young fellas lay down a bike (motorcycle) on the road near our place. This time of year, the rain tends to wash some dirt and gravel into the road from a number of rural driveways (all on hillsides), and there is a wide turn right near our property. An acquaintance told me that this road can be a real pickle if you aren't aware of this and ride accordingly.

Another set of elderly friends were riding a few years back (both on one bike), and a deer popped out. They took some real damage... I don't remember whether they hit the deer or not.

Be careful out there!

Yup bikes are easy to crash no doubt.

My neighbors kid has a crotch rocket something or other that he hits 6th gear just about my driveway probably 150 mph on the rear wheel no less with his GF on back pure insanity. The whole neighborhood wants him gone one way or another just gone.

I pray that he hits a rabbit or possum so he gets it out of his system so he doesn't kill one of us...not very Christian like but eye for an eye rings a bell. ;)
