I figured I was going to start something.

Midniteoyl, I agree, but since I don't know what the law was in Oklahoma in 1945 I can't say whether he was right or wrong.
And the higher the speed limit on that street, the longer the light is supposed to stay yellow.
Never heard of that, so I wouldn't know, but I guess we all know that the red light cameras are controversial.

Driving through the main artery of a town and hitting every light red. Think.of all the time and gas we'd save if the lights were synchroed(sp?) so that at normal driving speed, once you've waited through one stop, all or most turn green just as you approach them.

Also, those stupid "objects appear just after you hit them" mirrors... if the manufacturer wants to put something on a truck, why not make it something useful? :D

Walking face first into a spider web I didn't see.....

You probably didn't have to add 'I didn't see'. Cause when I see a spider web, I duck, go around or tear it down.
And how is it that the closest trees can be ten foot apart and the web is going to be across your trail?

Excellent point Larro - as I wouldn't voluntarily walk face first into one!! I too agree that it's mysterious where these webs seem to randomly appear with no particular place to anchor themselves!

After all this rain, prolly around 6 inches yesterday, the commode starts gurgling.

We have a nice heavily wooded city park with trails all around through it, and the worst part of taking our little dog for a walk in the woods is those danged webs that I don't see.

All the tacked on fees...

Examples...

Bird--my thinking over the years is that those who can, do and those who can't, teach. Probably could start a fight with that, and it certainly doesn't apply in all cases but I think it makes a lot of sense.

That's a mighty broad stroke, don't you think? Why would anyone want to do when you can make three to four times the salary teaching? And, to narrow my brush stroke. . . of course, that's not true in every case. But in my case, courseware/multimedia development, instructional design, and teaching have been a very lucrative career. I have no intention of fighting about it, but I'd even bet you would be proud of a son or daughter who became a teacher. Of course, there are plenty of good and bad teachers out there too.:)

Hmm. . . lots of left coast annoyances in that list. I think I'd get "fee'd up" with that place and move.:D

Here in Ga. the DOT has in most area's resolved the pulling into the center crossing while awaiting to turn, ;)
We have dedicated "left Turn lights" with having the combination of raised mediums and turning lights they're No excuse being caught up in the center of a red-light cross intersection, ...All other traffic ( straight cross traffic) is stopped while the left turn light is on,
the right turn on red has to yield to the oncoming left turn traffic, However many of these intersection also has dedicated "right turn on red Keep moving" & merging lanes.

Mostly family roots keeping me here... built a business and looking after mom.

Question for the brain trust on TBN.

It seems that what happens in California Oregon and Washington eventually spread to all the other States... except maybe Alaska.

I remember when California started with Catalytic Converters on cars and friends in other States told me it will never happen where they are and never really isn't such a long time looking back.

In part it could be because I'm old enough to remember when a person could still build a home with a fireplace and throw a log on the hearth on Christmas or buy a quart of paint to touch up a fender without breaking the law...

Or... operate a 50+ hp diesel without having to register it for Tier Compliance...

Receive a citation and have to pay a 'contribution' to the victims compensation fund.
BUT have your vehicle vandalized and you can only claim if the perp is apprehended, like fat chance.
Once they did apprehend a perp that damaged my car and stole some items however the LEO's strongly advised me not to claim suggesting retribution from the thief.

We have been chasing a fly around for a week. The other day when we went to town, a fly flap was on the list, but we forgot it. So far the folded TV Guide just isn't working on him.

Reminds me of the horsefly, wasp, bee or fly that gets in the truck and I think I can kill it while driving. Hey, Bee...here's an open window, how about using it?

My wife has a Makita 18V portable vacuum with a long nozzle on it and there aren't many that escape. Need to remember to plug the end with a tissue to keep the event from starting all over again.
