You can break her of it by going on the offensive, get all up in her space and start asking her a bunch of questions and she will throw you out of the house to do what you please outside. Win - Win.

My biggest pet peeve would have to be people that litter...

Absolutely no excuse for dumping trash out the window.

Near work is a family Chinese takeout I occasionally visit.

We have a private LVN and Medical Assistant school nearby... the students all wear scrubs with the school name... anyway, 4 young women were eating their takeout and as they were leaving tossed ALL the trash out the window into the parking lot...

I called the director at the school and we had a talk... I simply told her as an employer in a nearby Hospital seeing her students in action left a very negative impression... The administrator thanked me for my call and said she will be addressing the entire student body.

It could be many here think it is OK to use anywhere as their dumping grounds... because it is an on-going problem...

In my travels... I consciously judge a place by how clean it is...

Just look at the money taxpayers spend picking up the trash along the highways, and yet there's always more trash there right away. I don't understand it. Litter bags have long been available to carry in your vehicle, and of course now we just keep plastic sacks from the grocery store in each vehicle. I just cannot see any excuse for throwing litter out of a vehicle.

Amen... total disregard for where one lives and the community.

There was a seasoned police officer I had the pleasure of a couple of ride alongs...

He said litter was his pet peeve... even got into a little heat for writing litter citations.

He said he cares about the community where he lives and crime often starts out small...

In the Hospital parking lot with plenty of waste receptacles... people are always cleaning out their cars or dumping used diapers...

It gets really old after years of picking up after pigs...

ME: I need to go out and hook up the tiller to the tractor...

(wife has already started dinner) how much time before dinner is ready.

Wife: Well I have the roast beef in the crock pot...

Me: Okay...how long..

Wife: I need to preheat the oven for the broccoli cornbread

Me: So how long::banghead:

Wife: We are having green beans too

Me: So how long::anyone:

Wife: about 45 minutes

My peeve, is people who ask my advice, then ignore it and ultimately come to me to help fix the resulting mess. Over and over again.
When this happens at work, they get a pretty frank assessment before the cleanup begins. At home I'm more prone to suck it up with minimal if any review of the sequence of events. I just came back from the neighbours. Their floor is rotting, just like I explained it would, every year when they ask my advice on their latest renovation and redecorating ideas.
I'd prefer to not be asked at all.

You nailed my number 1 pet peeve of all time. I even resorted to the direct approach....."What time will dinner be ready?" NO ONE will ever get the direct answer either. dusty3030 also nailed it for the reason women do it.

Mine told me that it was my job to listen to her talk. She wants to make darn sure that I know that she works hard too. Since she too is a world class cook, I have learned to be patient..... feint interest

My pet peeve is people that whine about little things in life.

Other than that, good posts on a day when I think we are going to get snow in central Wisconsin (it it cold and nasty out there). As for the wimmin thing, people ask me why I don't where ear protection in the shop...I respond with "huh...what did you say"?

I agree. And I regularly see arriving customers who walk right by carts left in the parking lot to go inside and get a cart there. I don't understand why they don't take one of the carts they just walked past outside. I nearly always take a cart inside with me. Maybe part of my reason is my age.:laughing: Having a cart to push along as I go in is like having a walker; makes the going easier and more comfortable.:laughing: However, when I come out, I never take the cart out of the store unless I have more stuff in it than I can carry in my hands.
