Thieves stole my neighbors Electrical Lines

The free range geese routinely set up a perimeter around the deere to protect it at nite. Of course the feed nearby may help their decision as to what to 'guard'. Nothing sneaks up or gets by them and they call the donkeys for help!

Yea, but is that going to be the night they show up? I think I would rather be setting at home watching TV untill my remote alarm system beeps(or BOOMS) that I have company at my remote site, then go investigate, or call the police/sheriff if it is too remote to investigate myself. Texas as I recall is pretty easy going about how nighttime prowlers are dealt with. I think most other states are not(but they should be)... I am personally of the opinion that someone sneaking around private property after dark deserves whatever they get...

As long as crime pays, people will be taking the job...

So what is the moral to this story? How deep was this wire buried?
A video link sounds good and I have thought about the same thing, but with video you need a fast UPLOAD instead of a fast download - A fast Upload is not easy to find in a rural area.

Neat Container Barn !

I like Soundguy's "thief dispatcher" it's kinda politically correct and incorrect at the same time.

Just a darn shame they didn't electrocute themselves when they did the job.

Amen to that one. There have been some of these guys here in OK that I have heard of actually stealing wire out of electrical substations. Now that is asking to get seriously fried.:D It would serve them right.

Theres definetly money in scrap right now. My brother has been toting a trailer load or two a week for a month or so. I found him a gold mine down the road from me and asked the owner about it. Its free for the taking. Right now tin/car bodies/short iron (basicly whatever you can load on a trailer) is paying 8.?? a hundred. Two tons nets $320, not bad at all. Copper is through the roof high. We pulled a piece of aluminum out today that was about 1"X3"X7 FEET long, it had to weigh 40 pounds or better. That bad boy is gonna make me some money!

I heard a story a few months back that some people in or around Baltimore were cutting down street poles on major highways and selling them for scrap.

Now those things are huge! How can someone not notice them going away?
