According to my health inspector friend, if a screwdriver is all you got with your take out Chinese, you did good. She and her husband no longer eat at any of the Chinese food places in town, and there are a bunch. Of course, they also don't eat at any of the other ethnic places. Me, I figure my immune system is so good after living in Puerto Rico I could probably forage through the stuff they do throw out, which is apparently not much.

This was a long time ago, but I remember a storey where an in state Chinese restaurant got shut down because they actually found domestic animal carcasses in their trash pick up. So it has happened, not just a stereotype.

Doesn't have to be Chinese or ethnic, commercial kitchens are some of the most disgusting places you will ever see. Of course I'm sure there are some that would pass inspection more than just once a year.

You ALWAYS carried a screw driver to hold the butterfly open to the carb, so it would start. Never leave home without it.

Going into commercial kitchens, nearly ruined me from wanting to 'Eat out". some of the swankiest places in town, UGH in the kitchens. Barbeque places usually covered in grease, on the walls. Cleanest??? Macdonalds....Nastiest place I ever went to eat??? -uses fried chicken, world famous.

Or a Chinese plumber, who just came out of the back room after working on the sewage ejector pump!!!

You never know, probably no big deal, but it could be a health issue.
