I can't see why Cleveland teams must go to the bottom of the talent barrel every so often. Most egotistic team owners have a desire to win........But not in Cleveland.( maybe it's just a big tax write-off for them) If you're going to own a team..............SPEND THE MONEY to make them competitive or sell the franchise to someone else !! The yankees or other teams don't have to suck for 10 years to get 1 year with a playoff chance !! The marlins did it in 1 year !! Butch Davis is a good coach on the college level where the players LISTEN and respect their coach when there's no 7 figure salary for the players wether they perform up to potential or not. Coaching the overpaid takes a special person with different motivational skills............Just my .02 rant..........Tom

Seriously? I'll have to flip on ESPN and check it out. I was hoping we would have kept him til the end of the season just to mess with him getting a college job and recruiting. Kind of giving him the Couch treatment.

I have to admit that I was in favor of having Belichick broomed at the time too. Back then he seemed like a stump. His press conferences were a joke, no one could understand a word he said.

With Davis though I fault him and only him. There is an old saying in coaching, goes a little like this: "Show me a good coach and I'll show you good players." Many times we can't fault the coach if the players stink but with Butch, all the players were his as he doubled as GM...not to mention judge, jury, and executioner. Then there is the argument about the injuries, but who doesn't have them?
