Advesarial advertising. It has to be the lowest IQ approach to anything.

"Their stuff is Bad! So trust ME with your money!!"

That really makes me want to fork over some money (not!)

With all the information available to us today, it is pretty easy to see that there are lots of good products out there. We don't need to be fleeced by guys when the best they can do is take shots at their competitors... Do we?

Mike, interesting post. I'm guessing you are going after the brand bashers with this one. What I don't understand is why TBN allows a dealer of put his phone number in a tag line, or even to insult another brand in his tag line. Seems rather like TBN is being taken advantage of on one hand, and the implied rules of being polite are being flaunted on the other hand.

Now, to get back on topic /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif , I too, am turned off by those kind of tactics. I feel that if you cannot properly describe the brand without badmouthing the other, you are in the wrong business. I can't really think of a brand I don't like. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. If they were all alike, or if everyone had the same kind, things would be pretty boring.
