We found a baby squirrel about five years back, and nursed it back to health with baby formula. We planned on re-introducing it to the wild, but the darn thing got so attached to us it wouldn't go away. Any time it would see us, it would scamper over, climb up, and perch on one of our shoulders. We were afraid to let it go because it might jump on someone who didn't know it was tame - give them a heartattack.
We still have it - and it's turned out to be a great pet. Squirrels are amazingly smart, and if you treat them right when they're young, they can be good critters.
