Check online for a better price and really any quality auto paint will work. Valspar made some decent paint for the price (TSC used to carry it) and I am told some other retailers are carrying it - maybe someone can chime in and give you some idea where. Good luck!

I'll look around just got out of school on Tuesday so I'm just working up to it

Good luck - also can check NAPA if you have one that has a paint shop around you

Maybe I posted earlier on this thread? IF you plan on keeping the tractor for a while, and you only want to do it once, spray it with epoxy primer (good stuff- tough as ****) and spray Kubota paint. I am no artist with a spray gun, but following directions and using a $30 HF HVLP gun I got great results. One good piece of advice is use Xylene for thinner- when I did, I was sorry I hadn't from the get go. Of course, the prep work is 90% of any refinishing job...

As you can see I still have some spots to get but I'll get there

Good start - you may want to unbolt your hyrdo lines as you will get a better paint job and it often saves time over masking them.

Cool thread. I'm enjoying it. I know you got way more advise than you need but I'll tell you that prepping is the most important part of a project such as this. Get the old paint off, get the grease and oil off, get a good quality primer and paint and take what ever time it requires to do it right but the most important part is "have fun doing it".
Here's a few photos of my ol forklift that I did. Good luck and enjoy.

Paul, I think your forklift photos are what got me interested in your work to begin with! Good work.

I think epoxy primer is a no-brainer choice. Very easy to use, sticks and protects, and beats other primers hands down in my experience. I noticed that my loader bucket, which I cleaned up and primed and sprayed with Kubota orange paint, is a good example: I was moving some stone and gravel, and on the cutting edge, the orange paint is worn off, but the gray primer is still there. Talk about tough!

SW has a very good DTM paint in Kubota orange. Its real tough. It'd be a great tractor paint. Sorry I forget the PN for the paint but any SW industrial store should have it

It's looking good.

Looking good. It's a good feeling to freshen up an older tractor.
