Thought I would go ahead and post this in the proper forum. As I stated over in the "shopping" forum, I am heavily considering buying an L2900 from an acquaintance of mine. But it doesn't have a backhoe. I need one for the duties around my place. I would prefer to get one that is bigger than 6'. What would be one step bigger than that? Looks like Woods doesn't sell one that big. Neither does Taylor-Way. And like I said, I'd prefer to get a Kubota. Whatever the predecessor was to the BH76. Needs to be a frame mount. Googled "Kubota backhoe attachment used" and came up with nothing except a $7900 one on EBay. That's WAY outta my price range ($2000-$3500).
I think you will find that you'll get a better price overall by buying a used TLB than by getting a CUT and then looking for a BH. That goes double for an out of date model like the L2900.
A used 30hp tractor based TLB is a pretty common listing on used tractor sites. Used BH's in good condition are not so common.
Actually, I'm getting a butt-load of attachments to this L2900 at a "good neighbor" price. Plus, the tractor is in pristine condition. I did a little more digging (NPI) and found that I was wrong. Taylor-Way makes a 65 that will suit my needs. I just need to find out what will be involved in sub-frame mounting it instead of the 3 point hitch method.
